Day 1 in the “Red Stick”

Next, head off to the Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center that is a mix of swampland and forest surrounded by flora and fauna, nature trails and a building with exhibits on ecology, history and culture. Check out the exhibits from waterfowl to minerals. Walk miles of nature trails and you many encounter birds, coyotes, alligators, turtles, Raccoons, foxes, snakes, deer, and the like.

2:30pm- Know Baton Rouge’s history at Magnolia Mound Plantation!

Next, head off to the Magnolia Mound Plantation. This spot traces the historical and cultural contribution of the French Creoles to Baton Rouge.
